Gile Falls
Wisconsin has quite a few waterfalls, especially in northwest Wisconsin. I’ve always wanted to see a few of them so one Saturday, we went on a day-long waterfall tour! Our first stop was Gile Falls, a small waterfall located right in the tiny town of Gile.
Getting there + parking
As you head west out of Hurley on Hwy 77, drive through the town of Gile and turn left on Kokogan Street. Park at the corner of Kokogan and Mellon (there’s no parking lot, just park on the side of the road). You’ll see a little sign and a row of big boulders. Walk past the boulders and there will be a narrow footpath to your left. Follow that until you reach the falls. They will be on your right.
This was a really pretty spot and a great way to kick off our waterfall tour. I also liked that it seemed a little secretive and hidden. If I would’ve just been randomly driving through the area, I never would’ve known it was there! In total, we probably spent about 10-15 minutes here.
If you’re in the area or passing through town, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. Even though it’s pretty small and not as well-known as some of the other Wisconsin waterfalls, it’s still a cute little spot.
